Vamos, Werder! The Green-Whites jetted off to Spain for their training camp two days after their first session back from the winter break. Alexander Nouri’s team met at Bremen airport at 7:45 to catch a flight one hour later to Malaga. They will then head to Alhaurin el Grande from there, where they will have numerous training sessions up until and including Tuesday, 10th January.

“We want to use our time in Spain to do some intensive work. It will be about the principles that we have so far managed to put into practice and hone those in. In addition, we will use the training camp to bring the team closer together,” said Alexander Nouri.

The Werder troops will be based at the ‘Alhaurin Golf Resort’ in Andalusia. The squad will have their first session on Spanish soil as early as this afternoon at their hotel. The following 27 players have travelled with the team: Jaroslav Drobny, Michael Zetterer, Felix Wiedwald (goalkeepers), Santiago Garcia, Luca Caldirola, Robert Bauer, Thomas Delaney, Clemens Fritz, Aron Jóhannsson, Max Kruse, Milos Veljkovic, Claudio Pizarro, Zlatko Junuzovic, Justin Eilers, Niklas Moisander, Luca Zander, Ulisses Garcia, Fin Bartels, Theodor Gebre Selassie, Johannes Eggestein, Lamine Sané, Florian Grillitsch, Serge Gnabry, Maximilian Eggestein, Niklas Schmidt, Ousman Manneh and Jesper Verlaat.
