It was a nerve-wracking season for Werder fans and, fortunately, there was a happy ending. The 2015/16 Bundesliga season was a busy one for the Green-Whites. 27 home goals were scored, a total of 686,846 spectators attended the games in the Weser Stadium and they rewarded with an impressive run of three straight victories to end the campaign.

Claudio Pizarro bagged 14 goals this term – more than any other Werder player. The Peru international scored a goal every 124.2 minutes on average. Overall Bremen's all-time leading goalscorer displayed great accuracy in front of goal, scoring with every third shot this season. Nonetheless, Bremen's attacking game was not geared towards Pizarro alone. Twelve other Bremen players added their name to the scoresheet this season, with the league average being 11.7 players per club.
