+++ Monday games no rarity for Werder: On this coming Monday, everyone will be looking to the Weser-Stadion for Bundesliga action. Above all, it will be an important game in terms of the table, vital if Werder are to stay in the league. Bremen’s second-to-last home game of the season against Stuttgart will be the 16th Monday night fixture in Bundesliga history. Werder have already taken part in four of those - no team has been involved in more of the elusive fixtures. The last one fell on 26th April 1993, when Werder played Bayern Munich at the Weser-Stadion. +++

Overview of the previous Werder Monday night games:

  • 30/03/1964 VfB Stuttgart 2-0 Werder
  • 27/04/1970 Rot-Weiß Essen 3-2 Werder
  • 31/03/1986 Dortmund 1-1 Werder
  • 26/04/1993 Werder 4-1 Bayern

+++ Vocal appreciation in Schwanewede: Something very special happened in St. Michaelis’ Church in Bremen on Wednesday night. The 'musica sacra' choir, which is musical Werder fan group, gave a unique rendition of the Oasis song "Wonderwall". The song is a Werder anthem and stands for the fans’ support of the club. +++
