Things are starting to look up for Aron Jóhannsson! The 25-year-old is making progress with his rehab program and is feeling positive after a long and painful injury. “Things are finally getting better, I’m very happy about that. I have worked really hard recently and hope to be fit as quickly as possible,” the 19-time US international told WERDER.DE.

He has been missing from the squad since September with a nerve injury in his right hip. The striker underwent an operation at the end of October and since April he has been back in his homeland Iceland completing his rehab. But that didn’t stop Jóhannsson keeping a key eye on Werder’s intense relegation battle. “I really cannot wait to be back on the pitch in front of these fans.” Hopefully he can hit the ground running again, after scoring on his home debut back at the beginning of the season.
