There was plenty on offer on matchday three in Group F on Wednesday. Amazing goals, thrilling comebacks, elated winners and disappointed losers. From the Green-Whites perspective: Laszló Kleinheisler has secured a place in the last 16 with Hungary, while Junuzovic and Austria have been eliminated at the group stage. Both Werder men didn’t make an appearance in their countries’ final group matches.

Zlatko Junuzovic didn’t manage to completely recover from his injury in the end and was forced to watch on from the sidelines, as his team went behind in the 18th minute against Iceland. Dragovic stepped up but hit the post with his penalty. There was a glimmer of hope as Alessandro Schöpf equalised for Austria before Traustason broke Austrian hearts and took Iceland through to the round of 16 with a winner deep in added time. Juno is the second Werder man to be eliminated at the tournament’s group stage after Theo Gebre Selassie’s exit earlier this week.

There was plenty to cheer about in Lyon as Hungary and Portugal had a goal fest in their final group match as they played out a 3-3 draw, which ended with Laszló Kleinheisler’s team progressing to the round of 16 as group winners. Hungary took the lead three times but Portugal managed to find an equaliser on each occasion. Laszló Kleinheisler didn’t make an appearance. Hungary will face Belgium, who finished second in Group E, in the last 16 on Sunday, 26th June
