SV Werder Bremen and Rapid Vienna have reached an agreement over the transfer of Florian Kainz. The midfielder will join the Green-Whites on a long-term deal, subject to a medical. The deal was confirmed by both clubs on Friday morning and the 23-year-old has already bid farewell to his Rapid teammates. The transfer fee will remain undisclosed.
“We’re delighted that all parties have agreed to this transfer after very good talks with Rapid Vienna. Florian is expected to sign his contract with us early next week,” said Werder sporting director Frank Baumann.
Florian Kainz moved to the Austrian capital in the summer of 2014 from his home town club Sturm Graz. The attacking midfielder made 163 appearances for the two clubs in the Austrian Bundesliga (26 goals, 40 assists). Kainz has also made 14 appearances in the Europa League (two goals, two assists), has played four times in UEL qualifiers and also featured in seven Champions League qualifying matches (one goal). In November last year he celebrated his debut in the Austria national team.
