Goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobny has joined SV Werder Bremen. The 36-year-old has moved to the Green-Whites from Hamburger SV and has signed a contract until 30.06.2017. Sporting director Frank Baumann confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon. The former Czech Republic international completed his medical in Bremen earlier in the day.

“We’ve signed an experienced keeper in Jaroslav Drobny. He has already shown on many occasions that he can be relied upon and is 100 percent ready. The team will also profit from his character away from the pitch,” said Baumann.

After spells in the Czech Republic, Greece, England and in the Netherlands, Jaroslav Drobny has been in Germany since 2007. He has played for VfL Bochum, Hertha BSC and most recently, Hamburger SV. The former Czech Republic international (nine caps), who, amongst other things, took part in EURO 2012, has made 190 Bundesliga apps, featured in 11 DFB Cup ties and played on 14 occasions in European competitions. Drobny played in ten Bundesliga games last season.
