László Kleinheisler started for Hungary on Saturday evening as they faced Germany in their last practice game before EURO 2016. Jogi Löw’s side took a deserved lead in the 39th minute (o.g.) and then added a second after the break. Werder‘s László Kleinheisler put in a respectable performance and was substituted after 82 minutes.
04.06.2016, 20:30 CEST: Austria vs. Netherlands 0-2 (0-1)
Austria were unable to win in their friendly ahead of the European Championship. Marcel Koller’s side were by far and away the better footballing side but suffered a 2-0 home defeat. The Austrians failed to score for the first time in 23 games - Werder‘s Zlatko Junuzovic started the game but couldn’t do anything to prevent the impressive run from ending. The Netherlands took the lead after just nine minutes. “Juno” had the chance to equalise in the first half but was denied by keeper Jeroen Zoet. Georginio Wijnaldum doubled the advantage in the 66th minute. Junuzovic was substituted two minutes later and replaced by Martin Harnik. Austria face Kleinheisler and Hungary at the European Championship on the 14th June in Bordeaux (18:00 CEST).
05.06.2016, 15:10 CEST: Czech Republic vs. South Korea 1-2 (2-0)
Czech Republic suffered a 2-1 defeat to South Korea in their last friendly ahead of the European Championship. Werder‘s Theo Gebre Selassie started the game and played at left back. He picked up a yellow card for a foul after 25 minutes. From the resulting free-kick - just outside the penalty area - the South Koreans took the lead and doubled their advantage before the break. A deflected long-range effort from Marek Suchy pulled a goal back for the 1972 European Champions. Gebre Selassie was given his marching orders after an hour. Werder’s full back picked up a second yellow in the 60th minute. Shortly beforehand, the 29-year-old had hit the post with an effort.
