Sambou Yatabaré will no longer be available for the Green-Whites this season. The Mali international suffered a pulled hamstring during the 6-2 home win over VfB Stuttgart on Monday. The diagnosis was confirmed following an MRI scan on Tuesday afternoon.

“Unfortunately, our suspicions have been confirmed. It’s a bitter blow. We will have to go without Sambou for the final two games. However, we showed on Monday that we have the quality to adjust to new situations and other players are able to step up and take on the responsibility,” said head coach Viktor Skripnik.

Yatabaré picked up the injury in the build-up to the own goal that put Werder 2-1 up against Stuttgart, being caught by Daniel Didavi just as he delivered the ball into the box that Barba headed into his own net.
