Clemens Fritz: "I’m upset and disappointed. We have to take the blame because we just weren’t in the game in the first half hour. We allowed them far too many easy chances, didn’t win our challenges or play transitional football. After that we were good. We showed that we wanted to turn it around, even from 2-0 down. But the fact is that it was too late by then."
Viktor Skripnik: "Of course we’re disappointed because we wanted to get three points for the fans. It was all or nothing and both teams wanted the win. We were tried at the beginning and paid the price. We reacted well, though. If we play as we did in the latter stages in the next three games, we’ll win."
Marco Bode: "The team deserved appoint. The team weren’t fully fit after the midweek game but we were the better side in the second half and had a lot of chances. It was an important game in which we, unfortunately, threw away points."
Felix Wiedwald: "We didn’t show up at the start and that’s the reason we lost. Maybe we planned to do too much. It wasn’t a good performance. It’s a shame we couldn’t get another goal in the second half."
Thomas Eichin: "HSV were aggressive and executed their opportunities. We were far better in the second half and we had momentum on our side. We didn’t reward ourselves with the second goal though. The least you need in a game like this is a draw."
