The anger and disappointment of the result against Augsburg lasted two days, but on Monday evening the fans came out on social media to voice their support. Under the hashtag #greenwhitewonderwall they tweeted lyrics from the song which represent how they feel about Werder and vowed to be right behind the team in their upcoming game against Wolfsburg.
In under 24 hours over 2,500 posts were made with this hashtag. A couple of high-profile tweets also came out from “Werder Bewegt" ambassador and musician Jan Delay and Felix Kroos, who is currently on loan from Werder to Union Berlin.
