Werder will have to make do without Milos Veljkovic. The Serbian youth international broke a toe in his left foot in Tuesday afternoon's training session and will be out for around three weeks.

Claudio Pizarro is now back in Bremen. The Peruvian returned to the city on Tuesday and has already been treated. The 37-year-old will also carry out an individual programme tomorrow. "We need to look one day at a time at how his injury is developing. Ideally, he'll be able to play on Saturday against Mainz," explained manager Viktor Skripnik.

It's a similar story for Sambou Yatabaré. The midfielder is struggling with muscle problems in his left thigh. "It's the same as with Claudio. We'll have to see how things pan out in the days leading up to the game," said Skripnik. His team will take part in a public training session tomorrow at 10:00.
