Philipp Bargfrede has suffered a setback in his recovery from a meniscus tear. Following the operation on his right knee, a small inflammation was discovered which required his knee joint to undergo a cleansing procedure in Bremen.
However, that doesn’t change the 27-year-old’s plans to be back to fitness for the start of next season. “Every setback is of course frustrating, but we have been able to deal with the problem. The healing process for my meniscus is still a lengthy one, so this issue won’t delay my comeback,” Bargfrede told WERDER.DE.
Bargfrede picked up his knee injury in the away game against Schalke 04 in mid-January and has been sidelined ever since.
