Romano Schmid has done it: After almost 60 appearances for Austria at age group level, the 22-year-old has been called up to the senior national team for the first time. In the upcoming international break he will play against France and Croatia alongside Marco Friedl.
“I am really happy that I will be there for the first time,” explained the midfielder in an interview with WERDER.TV. “Everyone knows how many international games I have played for the youth teams and how successful I was in terms of goals. So, it really means an enormous amount to me.”
