After a successful start to the international break from a Green-White perspective, the trend is continuing for the sides of our boys. Serbia national team won their final World Cup warm up on Friday evening against Bahrain 5-1. Werder’s Milos Veljkovic was in the matchday squad but didn’t see any action.

The 27-year-old has been slowed down recently by his Achilles injury. However, the doctors gave him the green light in time for the international matches. As such, he is being carefully guided back into match action. Veljkovic, who usually plays the full 90 minutes for Serbia, did not play against Bahrain.

Fabio Chiarodia was also not in the starting eleven on Saturday afternoon. In Italy U19’s second game against Hungary, their head coach rotated the whole side and, therefore, Chiarodia took his place on the bench, having started in the previous game. He was able to enjoy watching his teammates win 7-2.

Lasse Rosenboom, Jiri Pavlenka, Ilia Gruev and Romano Schmid will be hoping for some more playing time this weekend. Rosenboom will play for Germany U20s in their Elite League match against Norway later on today. At 6pm, Jiri Pavlenka will again be between the sticks for the Czech Republic against Turkey. On Sunday (20.11.22), Ilia Gruev’s Bulgaria face off against Luxembourg, whilst Romano Schmid and his Austrian teammates take on European champions Italy at 20:45 CET.
