Niclas Füllkrug and Germany have failed to reach the knockouts of the 2022 World Cup. Hansi Flick’s team won their final game 4-2 against Costa Rica, but finished third in the group after Spain lost to Japan. Füllkrug continued his good form as he scored his third goal for his country.

The Werder striker once again impressed after coming off the bench for Germany. Füllkrug assisted Kai Havertz’s goal (73’) and then scored his second goal of the tournament to make it 4-2 (88’). However, the result in the other game between Japan and Spain didn’t go Germany’s way. Japan won 2-1 to top the group.

Milos Veljkovic and Serbia will be hoping to make the round of 16 on Friday night. They will face Switzerland in their last group game (20:00 CET) and require a win to have a chance of progressing. This game will be a special one for SVW’s defender, given that he was born in Basel and grew up there. He started the first two group games for Serbia.
