Ole Werner was able to share some good news in Monday’s presser ahead of Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal second round clash with SC Paderborn 07 (18:00 CEST). Leonardo Bittencourt and Milos Veljkovic, who trained individually on Sunday, are back to fitness and took part in Monday’s session. Both players should be a part of the squad in Paderborn. “We are assuming that Leo and Milos will be available,” explained Werner.

There are, however, still question marks surrounding captain Marco Friedl. “Marco had a bit of a problem in the Mainz game. We’ll have to wait and see how he trains tomorrow.” Nicolai Rapp (muscular problems) and Manuel Mbom (rehabilitation training after Achilles tendon tear) will both miss out in Paderborn.
