This passion for environment protection is reflected in our Bracelet Bracenet. The bracelet by Bracenet is made from cleansed ghost nets. The terms ghost games and ghost coals are a given to any Bundesliga fan, but what about ghost nets? To answer that question, you have to cast your net wider. The outcome will reveal the connection to the Hanseatic City of Bremen: Ghost nets are commercial fishing nets that have been lost, abandoned, or discarded at sea. Every year they are responsible for trapping and killing millions of marine animals including sharks, rays, bony fish, turtles, dolphins, whales, crustaceans, and birds. Ghost nets cause further damage by entangling live coral, smothering reefs and introducing parasites and invasive species into reef environments. These fishing nets are recovered by our associate Bracenet from a depth up to 30 m, cleansed and rehashed, using a specific treatment, and manufactured into one of a kind bracelets.
The bracelet features a two-rowed, approx. 2x2 mm thick ghost net in the club colours green and white and comes with a handy magnetic clasp. The stainless steel clasp is engraved on both sides: On one side you'll find the Bracenet logo, on the other the Werder Diamond logo.
Each bracelet comes in a cotton pouch with a badge, stating the number of the net and the month of its recovery.
The bracelets are handmade from ghost nets, recovered from the ocean. The bracelets are one of a kind items, due to mesh size and thickness. The ghost nets are cleansed before processing in an environmentally friendly way. #Bracenet
