In preparation for the 2020/21 season, SV Werder Bremen have arranged six preseason friendlies. The first will take place on Sunday, 9th August against newly-promoted second division side Eintracht Braunschweig (kick-off: 13:00 CEST).
The day after the win at Schalke was a day for rest and recovery. SVW have another big week ahead of them as they prepare for games against Eintracht Frankfurt (Wednesday) and VfL Wolfsburg (Sunday).
Ömer Toprak is still yet to get back to training with the ball. Instead the defender is continuing to work on a comeback to proper training. "I feel okay and I'm constantly getting better and better," reported Toprak to werder.de during a rehab session.
Despite the Green Whites still being unable to train as a team, Florian Kohfeldt is gradually getting all of his players back to his disposal. Philipp Bargfrede has made effective use of the past few weeks without any football and Ömer Toprak is also on the right track, according to the head coach.
Ömer Toprak arrived at the wohninveset WESERSTADION on Tuesday on crutches and wearing a protective boot. In addition to picking up a calf wound during the DFB-Pokal match against Eintracht Frankfurt, the defender also suffered an ankle ligament injury. The injury was confirmed during an MRI last week.
