Ludwig Augustinsson will leave SV Werder Bremen to join La Liga side Sevilla, after both sides reached an agreement for the transfer of the Sweden international.

Ludwig Augustinsson is on the brink of leaving for a foreign club. SV Werder Bremen have agreed a deal in principle with the Swedish international’s new club.

SV Werder Bremen’s squad situation ahead of Fortuna Düsseldorf away is similar to the one ahead of last weekend’s opening game. Five players will definitely not be available for selection: Nicolai Rapp, Ludwig Augustinsson, Milos Veljkovic, Jiri Pavlenka and Leonardo Bittencourt. Anthony Jung is also a doubt for Saturday night’s encounter.  

Ludwig Augustinsson has reached the round of 16 at EURO 2020. Werder’s left-back played the full game in the 3-2 win over Poland, which saw Sweden win Group E ahead of Spain.

The European Championship gets underway on Friday, with 24 teams on the hunt for the trophy. Three Werder players will be involved for three different countries. Left-back Ludwig Augustinsson (Sweden), goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka (Czech Republic) and defender Marco Friedl (Austria) will be looking to reach the final in London.
