Ömer Toprak failed to complete the final training session ahead of the Frankfurt game and will therefore miss tomorrow’s match. He had a problem with his calf during the final game and went back into the changing rooms early as a result. It’s not yet known how long he will be out for, but Florian Kohfeldt thinks “it shouldn’t be anything long-term.”

Head coach Florian Kohfeldt will therefore be without his centre half who came from BVB on loan in the summer for Sunday evening in Frankfurt. Kohfeldt didn’t have much to say about the injury, commenting: “Ömer trained really well this week, so this injury has come as a bit of a surprise. I don’t know what exactly happened. All I can confirm right now is that he definitely won’t play tomorrow.” Despite the absence of Toprak, Kohfeldt is seemingly confident ahead of the away game in Frankfurt. Bargfrede and Veljkovic provide him with two fresh options, while Christian Groß and Theodor Gebre Selassie have both been doing a good job at the heart of defence. “We will still go there full of confidence hoping to win the game,” said the head coach.
