Ludwig Augustinsson did not miss a single competitive fixture last season. The left-back was on the pitch for all 34 Bundesliga matches, as well as five DFB-Pokal fixtures. Now, the 25-year-old (who did not feature against Atlas Delmenhorst), is also set to miss the opening match of the Bundesliga season against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday 17th August 2019 (15:15 CEST). Head coach Florian Kohfeldt confirmed Augustinsson’s absence during a press conference on Thursday. “Ludde is not ready to return yet. We also can’t pinpoint exactly when he will return. We just need to wait and don’t want to take a risk with him,” said Kohfeldt.

Otherwise, the head coach has a full roster available for Saturday's match, with the exception of Sebastian Langkamp, Milos Veljkovic and Fin Bartels, who underwent an operation on Monday. Kevin Möhwald, Claudio Pizarro and Milot Rashica could all feature, after taking part in individual training this past week. “There are a lot of positives. Every player who had to sit out recently will take part in training on Thursday,” said Kohfeldt.
