Defender Jannes Vollert has extended his contract with Werder Bremen and will head to Halleschen FC on a two-year loan, according to sporting director Frank Baumann.
“He has already played in the third division for us. He will be able to pick up some game experience in Halle and also play football at a high level with a good club. We’re hoping to see plenty more from Jannes in the future,” said Baumann.
Even Vollert is looking positively towards the future. “I was able to take my first steps as a professional footballer here at Werder, and have been able to pick up experience in the third division. I’m very grateful to both the club and all those involved for that chance. I’m looking forward to furthering my development at Halle. After my loan period is over I’d like to return to Werder having matured as a player.”
The Rendsburg native made the switch from Holstein Kiel to Werder’s youth academy in summer 2013. The 21-year-old has played for the U23’s for the past two years, and is a regular for the team. In total, Jannes Vollert featured in 13 matches this season. At the same time, he also took part in the Bundesliga training camps in the Zillertal.
