Marco Friedl has been included in the final 23-man Austria squad for this month’s U21 European Championships in Italy and San Marino. The Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) submitted their final squad to UEFA on Thursday morning.

Austria will face Denmark, Serbia and Germany in the group stage of the tournament and Friedl could face Werder teammates Maximilian and Johannes Eggestein in their final group game. The Eggestein brothers have both been included in the provisional Germany and are both currently training in South Tyrol with the rest of the squad. The final 23-man Germany squad is set to be announced on Friday morning. The 2019 UEFA Under 21s European Championship begins on 16th June.
