SV Werder Bremen will have to do without Niklas Moisander for longer than originally thought. The muscle strain that the defender picked up in the friendly with Ajax is more severe than initially thought. This was revealed in scans over the past few days.
“The follow-up MRT scan has now given us a much clearer picture. This is of course very disappointing. Niklas is a key player for us in defence and will probably be out until October,” said Werder’s head coach Alexander Nouri. “We have always said that we would like to add another defender to the squad. We will be looking again for a player that can fit the profile we are looking for due to this situation,” said Frank Baumann, director of sport.
