The highest valued shirt was the Christmas edition of the home shirt worn by Claudio Pizarro, which found a new home for €1,200. This was closely followed by Rashica’s jersey, which brought in €1,000. Our number 17 placed third; Nuri Sahin’s top was auctioned for €800. All the money raised went to SV Werder Bremen Foundation, which will use the money for nationwide and international projects dedicated to education, sport and inclusion.
The highest bids all came from Germany, with two notable exceptions. Yuya Osako’s shirt is off to Taiwan, and Milos Veljkovic’s top is going to Switzerland. In total, 17 different countries took part in the bidding, including Australia, Kuwait, USA, Singapore and Hong Kong.
