Lars Lukas Mai part of the squad – Patrick Erras not travelling to Zillertal

28 players head to training camp

SV Werder Bremen will take 28 players to training camp in Zillertal. In addition to 24 outfield players, head coach Markus Anfang has also elected to take four goalkeepers with to camp.

There will also be a new face joining the squad at training camp: Lars Lukas Mai. Werder have reached an agreement in principle for the centre-back to join on loan from Bayern München. As such, the record champions have allowed Mai, who won the U21 EUROs with Germany earlier this summer, to join up with the team for training camp. Details of the loan deal are still in the process of being finalised.

Kyu-Hyun Park is also part of the squad travelling to Zillertal. Werder have reached an agreement in principle with South Korean club Ulsan Hyundai on a permanent transfer for the defender. Details of the contract are still in the process of being finalised.

Patrick Erras, meanwhile, has not travelled with the team. The midfielder is currently in discussions with another club over a potential move. David Philipp, Thore Jacobsen, Johan Mina and Oscar Schönfelder will also not take part in training camp, and will instead join the U23s for training.
