Milos Veljkovic is to join the SV Werder Bremen team council, filling the vacant spot which opened up after Maximilian Eggestein left the club, following a team vote on Thursday.

The 25-year-old, who was made temporary captain during the Nordderby, will join captain Ömer Toprak, Leonardo Bittencourt (vice-captain), Groß and Niclas Füllkrug on the council as one of the leaders of the team. The hierarchy for captaincy is now as follows: Toprak, Bittencourt, Groß, Füllkrug and Veljkovic.
