Schmidt and Chiarodia in isolation

SV Werder Bremen are set to be without Niklas Schmidt and Fabio Chiarodia this weekend. While Fabio Chiarodia returned a positive coronavirus test, Niklas Schmidt was displaying clear symptoms of the virus. The result of a PCR test is yet to be returned, however. The pair are both fully vaccinated and are isolating. Mitchell Weiser is also in quarantine.

As a new training week began, there were a number of absences in addition to those of Chiarodia and Schmidt. Nicolai Rapp (quarantine), Ömer Toprak, Abed Nankishi, Felix Agu (training individually) and Nick Woltemade (rehabilitation) were not present at team training.
