The first round of international fixtures has now been completed and SV Werder Bremen saw some of their own in action. There were victories for all our first team players whilst Nick Woltemade scored on his debut for the U20s.

On Thursday, Nick Woltemade came on to make his debut for the Germany U20s in the 73rd minute in a friendly against the Czech Republic. Just two minutes later he scored a penalty to make it 2-0, scoring his first goal for the U20s. The German U21s also played on Thursday, starting their qualification campaign for the European U21 Championship. Manuel Mbom and Luca Plogmann didn’t make an appearance in a 6-0 win over San Marino, but Lars Lukas Mai started the game and played over 45 minutes.

Werder defender Milos Veljkovic was brought on at half-time in Serbia’s 4-0 friendly win against Qatar on Wednesday, and helped his team to a clean sheet. Fabio Chiarodia didn’t come on at the 4 Nations Tournament for the Italy U21s in their first match against Israel on Wednesday.
