Niclas Füllkrug was allowed to leave isolation on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19 last week. Like in the case of Veljkovic, Friedl and Mbom, Füllkrug’s recent test result, and the recommendation from the RKI given by the Bremen health department as a reason for the early termination of isolation, which recommends a shortening to the period of isolation in justified cases, allowed the player to return. Another point for the decision was the continued daily PCR testing of all Werder Bremen players.

Therefore, Werder’s number 11 can return to training once again and will initially start with some individual work following medical checks.

Meanwhile, another member of the squad has had to enter isolation. Abdenego Nankishi, who is currently working on his comeback from a patellar tendon injury, has returned a positive Covid result.
