Toprak suffers muscle strain

Ömer Toprak will be out of action for several weeks, after suffering a calf muscle strain against RB Leipzig. The injury was confirmed after an MRI on Sunday afternoon. 

"It's extremely bitter for Ömer. He's proven his importance as a leader over the past months. However, we have enough quality replacements with Niklas Moisander, Marco Friedl, Milos Veljkovic and Christian Gross," said Werder head coach Florian Kohfeldt, who is hoping to have Toprak back before the end of the season.
