Bad news for Werder Bremen – Ömer Toprak is currently unavailable for the green-and-whites. The defender injured his calf muscle during training and underwent an MRI scan with team doctor Dr. Daniel Hellermann on Wednesday.

The injury means that the 31-year-old will miss the first match of the 2020/21 Bundesliga season, against Hertha BSC at the WESERSTADION this Saturday. After Toprak has completed a rehab schedule, the club will determine when he is fit to play again.
