Osako made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute, before adding a second in the 55th to make it 6-0. He then set up Inagaki for Japan's seventh of the night (68’). Osako then completed his hat-trick in added time (90’+2). It was another stellar international performance from Osako, after he’d previously provided two assists in a friendly against South Korea.
Romano Schmid also impressed on international duty. He played 86 minutes in a 2-0 win for Austria against Poland. After recording four assists in his previous appearance for the side, Schmid wasn’t involved in any goals last night, but still worked hard to create chances. Both Green-Whites will now return to Bremen.
Werder goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka will be in action on Tuesday evening with the Czech Republic in their World Cup qualifier against Wales (20:45 CEST).
