Werder striker Josh Sargent won the CONCACAF Nations League with the USMNT in the early hours of Monday morning. The 21-year-old started the game before leaving the pitch in the 68th minute. Gregg Berhalter’s side beat Mexico after extra time in an entertaining game which finished 3-2. The USA are the inaugural winners of the Nations League organised by continental association CONCACAF.

Milot Rashica also had plenty of reason to celebrate during his country’s 2-1 friendly win yesterday. The 24-year-old attacker was named man of the match after scoring both of Kosovo’s goals. Rashica started the game, scoring the opener in the 19th minute. Malta equalised shortly before the break before Rashica settled the game with a late second goal (84’). Rashica could be back in action as early as Tuesday (08.06.2021, 17:00 CEST) when Kosovo play Guinea.

Schmid provides an assist, Pavlenka starts

Romano Schmid contributed an assist for Austria U21s as they won 2-1 in a friendly match over the weekend. The 21-year-old midfielder could feature again on Tuesday (08.06.2021, 19:10 CEST) as they get started with qualification for the next U21 European Championship. Werder defender Marco Friedl did not appear for the senior Austria team in their EURO 2020 warm-up match.

Werder shot-stopper Jiri Pavlenka had to endure a chastening 4-0 defeat to Italy. Our goalkeeper played the full 90 minutes for his country. The Czech republic will try to pick themselves up on Tuesday evening (08.06.2021, 20.15 CEST) as they play their final friendly before the Euros. The opponents this time around will be Albania.

Sweden had to face Armenia without Werder left-back Ludwig Augustinsson. The 27-year-old remains sidelined with a muscle issue, although his participation in the Euros is not currently under threat. Sweden were able to prevail 3-1 in his absence.

Yuya Osako could make an appearance in World Cup qualifying on Monday (07.06.2021). Japan take on Tajikistan at 12:30 CEST with Osako starting the game among the substitutes.
