After fracturing his nose at home to Mainz 05, Milos Veljkovic is now set to return to training. The 25-year-old Serbia international will wear a custom-made special mask and can start joining the rest of the team in their training drills this week. He has therefore not yet been ruled out of the DFB-Pokal semi-final on Friday night.

A further three Werder players face a similar situation. Marco Friedl bruised his pelvis against Union Berlin and is currently being treated. The Austrian, along with Ömer Toprak (calf injury) and Leonardo Bittencourt (capsular injury), is hoping to be fit for the cup game against RB Leipzig this Friday.
