Bad news for Werder Bremen going into the weekend as Niclas Füllkrug has dropped out of the home game against FC Augsburg at short notice. The attacker picked up an ankle injury in the last training session ahead of the weekend’s Bundesliga game.

The 27-year-old will undergo further examination over the weekend. “I feel incredibly sorry for Niclas after he has fought his way back from injury. We all hope he won’t be out for too long. We’ll do everything we can to win against Augsburg for him,” said head coach Florian Kohfeldt.
