SV Werder Bremen are in the middle of a relatively short week of training, following a Sunday night game against TSG Hoffneheim: After having Tuesday off, the players began preparations for Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday morning. As is becoming the weekly tradition, Werder’s head of first team football, Clemens Fritz, gave WERDER.DE an overview of this week’s topics.

…personnel: "I’m expecting us to be without Niclas Füllkrug for the coming two games. We’ll have to reassess his situation after the international break. Davie Selke is currently receiving treatment for his groin problems in Berlin, where he will stay until next week."

…Felix Agu: "We speak to him on a daily basis. Physically, he’s fine, but he’s obviously still in quarantine. He now needs to start moving his body again, so our fitness coach Günther Stoxreiter is sending him exercises to perform.

…Werder’s game: "We showed courage in our build-up play against Hoffenheim and, in my eyes, we made a step in the right direction."

…Josh Sargent: "He’s extremely important for our team, cleans up for others on the pitch which gives us more defensive stability. He really does fulfil his tasks very well, but we’re currently working on making him more effective going forward, so that he can soon score his first goal."

…Milot Rashica: "He’s making progress, plays well at training, trying to get back to full match fitness. The last few weeks have been a bit bumpy due to his injury, but he’s doing well."

…Eintracht Frankfurt: "Eintracht have an extremely physical side and a lot of pace to go with it. We need to keep an eye on their transition play, because when they win the ball back they attack very quickly down the wings. However, we’ve got a healthy amount of confidence going into the game in Frankfurt."
