It's official: Manchester United's 20-year-old forward, Tahith Chong, will join SV Werder Bremen on loan for one year. Werder executives reached an agreement with both the player and the Premier League record champions on a one-year loan.

"We're delighted that Tahith has decided to join us. He's a talented youngster with real potential, who has already gained some experience at the highest level with Manchester United. Now he will have to get used to the Bundesliga and take the next step in his development with us," said Frank Baumann.

Florian Kohfeldt is equally pleased about the new arrival from England: "He's a very technically gifted player who can play on both wings. He's also really fast, which will help our game. Defensively he has potential for development - he's still only at the start of his career and we want to help him continue fulfilling his potential."

Tahith Chong is excited about the new challenge and is optimistic about his time at Werder: "First of all, I'm happy to be here and I'm looking forward to pre-season training with the team. This move is a great opportunity for me to develop. I'm looking forward to next season."

The Netherlands U21 international moved to England from Feyenoord aged 16 and over the last two seasons he has accumulated five first team Premier League appearances for Manchester United. In the ongoing Europa League campaign, Chong has six appearanced under his belt for the Red Devils. In the Premier League 2, he has played 31 times in the last three seasons, scoring 14 goals in the process.

Tahith Chong will wear the number 22 at Werder and completed his first training session with the club on Sunday morning at the Zillertal training camp.
