SV Werder Bremen have parted ways with both Philipp Bargfrede and Sebastian Langkamp. Both players’ contracts expired at the end of the season and were not renewed. Werder’s sporting director Frank Baumann informed the players of the decision.
“We wanted to go in a different direction with the planning of our squad. After all these years, it was an especially difficult decision to make with regards to Bargi, who has given everything for Werder. Bargi is Werder through and through, and so we also plan for him to complete a coaching course here with Werder after the end of his career. Sebastian Langkamp has also played an important role as a leader of the team and has contributed a lot to the team in recent years. We wish both of them all the best with their new challenges,” said Frank Baumann.
In contrast, no decision has yet been made regarding the future of Fin Bartels. “We remain in talks. For now, until there is further news, Fin will not train with the team,” added Baumann.
