The day after the win at Schalke was a day for rest and recovery. SVW have another big week ahead of them as they prepare for games against Eintracht Frankfurt (Wednesday) and VfL Wolfsburg (Sunday).

It was a day of mixed fortunes for Leonardo Bittencourt at the weekend. After scoring the opening goal, which turned out to be the winner, the midfielder had to be replaced at half time after suffering a bruised pelvis.

Rashica gets the all-clear, Toprak makes progress

Milot Rashica was also unable to complete the full 90 minutes due to an adductor problem. However, luckily both players only suffered minor injuries and are likely to be available for the game on Wednesday night.

Despite suffering some early bruising, Kevin Vogt managed to push through and complete the full 90 minutes without suffering any additional injuries.

Nuri Sahin was absent from yesterday’s substitute’s training session and is currently unavailable for Florian Kohfeldt. The midfielder has suffered a hip injury and will have to undergo further examinations on Tuesday.

On the contrary, both Ömer Toprak und Niclas Füllkrug have made positive developments in their recoveries. Both players are expected to increase their workload over the next two weeks and be gradually integrated back into team training. Kevin Möhwald, who has recently been completing his rehabilitation in Donaustauf, will undertake strength and conditioning tests in Bremen over the next few days. Claudio Pizarro is completing an individual training program as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury. It remains unclear as to when the Peruvian will return to team training.
