Match summary: It’s so great to see Yuya Osako back on the pitch. The Japan international needed just ten minutes to make his mark, assisting Milot Rashica’s opener. The match was played at a very high tempo, as SCF searched for an equaliser. Despite some effective pressing from the visitors, their equaliser was nothing more than a gift, with Petersen capitalising on Jiri Pavlenka’s fatal error. Werder were the much better side after the re-start and Thedor Gebre Selassie put them on course for their second home victory of the season. However, Nils Petersen and SC Freiburg had the last laugh with their stoppage time equaliser.
