Date set for Bundesliga return: Werder to face Leverkusen on the Monday night

The date is set for the restart: From Saturday, 16th May 2020, the Bundesliga will resume. The DFL (Deutsche Fußball-Liga) made the announcement during a press conference on Thursday afternoon. The season will continue with the Matchday 26 fixtures.

SV Werder Bremen will face Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Monday, 18th May at 20:30 CEST behind closed doors in the wohninvest WESERSTADION. "We are taking into account that SV Werder Bremen were one of the last clubs that was able to return to team training, for which the club was not responsible," explained Christian Seifert, CEO of the DFL. The final matchday of the season is set to take place on the 26th and 27th June 2020.
