After his red card against Fortuna Düsseldorf, Niklas Moisander was left gutted. To not be able to go out there and support his teammates during the Hoffenheim game really upset him. Luckily, after serving his suspension, the defender is now back in the squad.
Niklas Moisander doesn’t like to dwell on the past, and so his departure from the field against Düsseldorf is already completely out of his mind. “I’ve already forgotten about it,” explained Moisander on Wednesday in the mixed zone. The upcoming games in the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal against BVB and Augsburg are far too important. He won’t forget the Hoffenheim game this past weekend in a hurry though. After a good win to kick off the Rückrunde, “a disappointing result” quickly followed. “We’ll analyse what went wrong and then quickly switch our focus to Augsburg;” said the captain. We’re the Green-Whites, we don’t lose hope, not even after our seventh home game without a win.
Moisander compared the current situation to his first two seasons with Bremen, during which not everything went smoothly. “It was hard then too, but our strength was that we never lost faith in our own abilities. We have to stay positive, especially when the pressure is on like this,” said Moisander. Both teams have pressure on them at the weekend, and the outcome could be decided by who has the best attitude going into the game.
