For Werder's new centre back Kevin Vogt a slice of good news came from a tense situation. After a coming-together in injury time, the 28-year-old had to be carried off the pitch and taken to a hospital in Düsseldorf in an ambulance. Apart from a concussion, the diagnosis is one of no long-term damage.

Vogt will remain in hospital under observation, before being able to return to Bremen. "We are of course delighted that things have gone relatively smoothly. We will now do several tests at the beginning of the week to finally clarify when Kevin can start training again," explained head coach Florian Kohfeldt.
