Werder Bremen players will continue to train individually over the next few days. The club are still awaiting a decision from the Bremen Senate on whether the club will receive permission to train in small groups. As a result, the players will continue to train individually at home or in the weight room, in addition to individual sessions on the pitch.

Bremen's Minister of the Interior had announced that a decision would be forthcoming at the start of the week. The aim is to find a nationwide solution that can be applied to all Bundesliga clubs.

"We will continue to follow the directives set out by the authorities, but still find ourselves in limbo as several of our competitors in other parts of the country have already returned to training in groups. We hope that we won't find ourselves at a disadvantage, and would welcome a nationwide solution whereby football acknowledges the responsibilites it owes society and ensures that it follows the guidelines and precautions that have been set out," said head coach Florian Kohfeldt.

"The players have individual sessions that they complete with a coach either on the pitch or in the weight room," Kohfeldt said about what his players will be working on over the next few days. "They also have an individual running program to complete." Aside from players with long-term injuries (Niclas Füllkrug, Kevin Möhwald and Ömer Toprak), all other players are able to take part in training this week.
