The season may be over, but SV Werder are already implementing their plans for the next Bundesliga season with the signing of two new players for 2015/16. Among those is goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald. The 25 year old, who passed his medical earlier on Tuesday, will transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt back to Werder, where he played as a youth player and in the U23s. He has signed a two-year contract until 30/06/2017.

"Felix Wiedwald has developed greatly over the past few years. He collected a lot of experience in the 2. Bundesliga and this year he proved his quality in the Bundesliga for Frankfurt. He will invigorate the competition for the number 1 jersey", rejoiced sporting director Thomas Eichin about the signing. "I know Felix from before when he played for the U15s. He is a young, highly motivated goalkeeper who knows the club and city well. I am pleased that he will become part of our time this summer", explained Viktor Skripnik .Wiedwald himself cannot wait for the start of training in July: "I am already very well connected to this club and I am delighted to be back here at Werder. I am looking forward to the challenge and will approach it with great enthusiasm."

Felix Wiedwald played at Werder youth from 1999 to 2011. He played for several age groups, finally making it through to the U23s and first team. In the summer of 2011 he switched to MSV Duisburg, where he played 47 times in the second division, before he returned to the Bundesliga two years later with Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25 year old made eleven league appearances this season, as wells as one in the DFB Cup.

Talented left back Garcia will also join in the summer

Alongside Wiedwald, left back Ulisses Alexandre Garcia will also where the Green-White kit next season. The Swiss player has signed a three year contract at Werder, having signed from Grasshopper Club Zurich. "Ulisses is a very talented, highly enthusiastic player, who has made himself noticed with some very promising performances and has been touted by many other Bundesliga clubs. We are very excited that we were able to convince him to continue his development at Werder", explained Rouven Schröder, director of squad planning and scouting.

Garcia looks proudly and with delight at the thought of playing for Werder in the near future. "I am overjoyed to take the next steps of my career at such big club that is steeped in tradition like Werder Bremen. I want to establish myself her and in the Bundesliga. I will give everything to achieve that from day one", promised the 19 year old.

Ulisses Garcia broke into the first team at the Swiss record champions, Grasshopper Zurich, at the beginning of the season, though he already made his debut in 2013/14. During the season Garcia, who also has a Portuguese passport, made an appearance in both the cup and the Europa League. Furthermore, he played three times for the Switzerland U19s in European Championship qualifiers.
