First-half highlights:
2nd minute: Kimmich delivers a free kick into the box early. Kane is waiting to meet it and sends his header just over the bar, but the linesman’s flag was already up.
8th minute: Werder are caught out on the counter, as Bayern break quickly via the right flank. Olise takes a shot from inside the area, but Zetterer gets down quickly to make the save at the near post.
13th minute: Zetterer punches away another free kick from Kimmich, but it only falls as far as Coman. The Frenchman is able to get the ball to Kane at the far post, but the striker is denied by a strong save from Zetterer. Once again, the linesman’s flag is up.
18th minute: Musiala gets on the end of a line-breaking pass, but is unable to beat Zetterer, who does well to deny him inside the box. Werder are able to clear the ball away from danger.
22nd minute: Weiser wins his duel against Guerreiro and combines with Ducksch to move the ball up the pitch. Our number 8 is able to send a cross in at the far post that finds Grüll, but his attempt is deflected wide of the net.
28th minute: Coman receives the ball on the edge of the box. The Frenchman looks to curl an effort over Zetterer, but his shot sails just over the bar!
33rd minute: Bayern are finding it difficult to break down Werder’s backline and as a result, have instead looked to take shots from outside the area. Olise’s attempt takes a deflection, but fortunately for the Green-Whites, it goes wide of the target.
43rd minute: A tough blow for Werder, as Stage is forced off injured. Alvero comes on to replace him in midfield.
45th minute +1: Kane goes close just before half-time, as he sends a header towards goal that crashes off the left post.
