SV Werder Bremen must do without their midfielder Romano Schmid for their first game back in the Bundesliga against VfL Wolfsburg this Saturday (06.08). The 22-year-old has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now quarantining at his home.

“It’s disappointing for us, especially since Romano played well in pre-season and was in good form. He’s showing symptoms at the moment, but we’re hoping that he can rejoin the squad as quick as possible,” explained head coach Ole Werner.
