SV Werder Bremen started their preparation for their Bundesliga matchup against FC Köln on Tuesday afternoon. Anthony Jung and Amos Pieper were absent from the first session. While Jung was missing in order to manage his workload, birthday boy Amos Pieper was struggling with an ankle injury.

On Monday, it became clear that Oliver Burke could return to team training following his slight muscle strain. The 25-year-old Scot is a useful addition to head coach Ole Werner’s squad. Felix Agu (tendon problems) and Romano Schmid (damaged MCL) are still unavailable.
